Using one’s own mobile device, a person can deposit cash at any participating merchant into one’s own bank account without going to the bank branch. METTCARE M-Deposit app uses a person’s mobile device and existing Point-of-Sale (POS) infrastructure for a two-channel activity verification to prevent any fraudulent activity.
METTCARE does not store the deposit banking data on its servers, as transaction data is owned by the financial institution (FI). METTCARE only communicates the success of the activity back to the mobile device via SMS. Financial institution can send an email to the depositor about the banking activity, confirming the transaction and a new balance. If a depositor does not have an email account, FI can redirect SMS message to the mobile device through METTCARE.
